The current version is Macromedia Flash Professional 8.

With it you can create advanced interactive websites,
2 dimensional animation and content for mobile devices.

Flash Professional 8 contains a host of new graphics
tools and complex ways to create new visual effects.

One of the new concepts is called expressiveness.

Its programs run on all major platforms, Windows to
Mac to Unix to mobile phones. For scripting, it uses
AppleScript 2.0.

New features of Macromedia Flash Profession 8 include:

Additional graphic effects

Integrated and standalone video encoding

Alpha channel transparency support in video

High quality text rendering with advanced anti-aliasing control

Video plug-in to export Flash Video (.FLV) files from programs such
as Apple Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects 6.5, Avid XPress DVQ
and QuickTime Pro 7
