CompTIA IT Project+
This entry updates my article at:

CompTIA IT Project+

As CompTIA puts it, IT Project+ is the first project management credential designed by techies for techies. It is the equivalent of 2000 hours of experience in the field, so it is NOT the generic, beginning foundation that other CompTIA certifications, such as Network+, are.

CompTIA came out with a revised IT Project+ test in late 2003. The previous test dated back to 2001.

It covers four domains:

Domain 1: Project Initiation and Scope Definition -- 20%

Domain 2: IT Project Planning -- 30%

Domain 3: Project Execution, Control, and Coordination -- 43%

Domain 4: Project Closure, Acceptance, and Support -- 7%

The new exam also tests in greater detail the candidate’s familiarity of project management tools such as schedulers, spreadsheets, and databases. It also includes the issue of getting people to make decisions in a timely manner.

There are 80 questions on the IT Project+ test code PKO-002. You have 90 minutes and need a minimum score of 499 to pass the test.
