Lucent Certifications
This updates the article at:

Lucent Certifications for Not Yet Techies

Lucent has either discontinued or chosen to actively hide
their certification program. I searched through the company's
site and could find nothing on it. Other certification
sites, purportedly more on top of things than I pretend
to be, list their program as active -- but the links to
the company's certification pages are broken.

If Lucent had simply reorganized their site, the old
links should still redirect to the new ones. Plus
the site search engine should come up with them.

But neither is true, so forget Lucent certifications.

Lotus Certifications
This updates the article:

Lotus Certifications for Not Yet Techies

Lotus is now owned by IBM. They currently have 6
areas of certifications:

A. Lotus Workplace
B. Lotus Notes and Domino 6/6.5 Recertification
C. Lotus Notes and Domino 6/6.5 Application Development
D. Lotus Notes and Domino 6/6.5 System Administration
E. Collaborative Solutions Applications Development
F. Collaborative Solutions System Administration

A. Lotus Workplace has two separate certifications:

1. IBM Certified System Administrator - Lotus Workplace Messaging 2
Take and pass -- Exam 820: Implementing and Administering
IBM Lotus Workplace Messaging 2
This credential is targeted toward developers.


2. IBM Certified Application Developer - Lotus Workplace Web
Content Management 2 with Java
Take and pass -- Exam 830: Developing Websites Using
IBM Lotus Workplace Web Content Management 2 with Java
This credential is targeted toward systems administrators.


B. For Lotus Notes and Domino 6/6.5 Recertification there are
two certification paths:

1. IBM Certified Application Developer - Lotus Notes and Domino 6/6.5 --
You must be either CLP Domino R5 Application Developer or
a CLP Domino R5 Principal Application Developer AND
pass Exam 601: Notes Domino 6 Application Development Update

2. IBM Certified System Administrator - Lotus Notes and Domino 6/6.5 --
You must be either a CLP Domino R5 System Administrator or
a CLP R5 Principal System Administrator AND
pass Exam 602: Notes Domino 6 System Administrator Update

C. Lotus Notes and Domino 6/6.5 Application Development

There are 3 separate levels of this category:

1. IBM Certified Associate Developer - Lotus Notes and Domino 6/6.5

You must pass Exam 610: Notes Domino 6 Application
Development Foundational Skills

2. IBM Certified Application Developer - Lotus Notes and Domino 6/6.5

You must pass 3 exams:

1. Exam 610: Notes Domino 6 Application Development Foundational Skills
2. Exam 611: Notes Domino 6 Application Development Intermediate Skills
3. Exam 612: Notes Domino 6: Developing Web Applications

3. IBM Certified Advanced Application Developer - Lotus Notes and Domino 6/6.5

You must pass 3 exams:

1. Exam 513: Using JavaScript in Notes Domino Applications
2. Exam 273: LotusScript in Notes for Advanced Developers
3. Exam 516: Using Java in Notes Domino Applications

D. Lotus Notes and Domino 6/6.5 System Administrator

There are 3 separate levels in this category:

1. IBM Certified Associate System Administrator - Lotus Notes and
Domino 6/6.5

You must pass 1 exam:

Exam 620: Notes Domino 6 System Administration Operating Fundamentals

2. IBM Certified System Administrator - Lotus Notes and Domino 6/6.5

You must pass 3 exams:

1. Exam 620: Notes Domino 6 System Administration Operating Fundamentals
2. Exam 621: Notes Domino 6: Building the Infrastructure
3. Exam 622: Notes Domino 6: Managing Servers and Users

3. IBM Certified Advanced System Administrator - Lotus Notes and Domino 6/6.5

You must pass one additional exam:

Exam 623: Notes Domino 6: Configuring Domino Web Servers

E. Collaborative Solutions Applications Development

There are 3 levels to this category:

1. IBM Certified Associate Developer - Lotus Collaborative Solutions

You must pass ONE out of these four exams:

a. Exam 561: Developing Instant Collaborative Applications with
QuickPlace 3
b. Exam 563: Domino.Doc 3.0 Customization
c. Exam 565: Developing Applications using Lotus Workflow 3
d. Exam 572: Developing Web Applications Sametime 3

2. IBM Certified Application Developer - Lotus Collaborative Solutions

You must take and pass any 3 out of those 4 exams (see above).

3. IBM Certified Advanced Application Developer - Lotus Collaborative
Solutions

You must pass all 4 of the same above exams.

F. Collaborative Solutions System Administration

There are 3 levels to this category:

1. IBM Certified Associate System Administrator - Lotus Collaborative
Solutions

You must pass one of the following four exams:

Exam 531: Administering QuickPlace 3
Exam 533: Domino.Doc System Administration 3.0
Exam 542: Administering Sametime 3
Exam 534: Implementing Lotus Discovery Server 1.0

2. IBM Certified System Administrator - Lotus Collaborative Solutions

You must pass any 3 out of 4 of the above same exams.

3. IBM Certified Advanced System Administrator - Lotus Collaborative
Solutions

You must pass all 4 of the above exams.
