Adobe Photoshop remains THE program for all graphics artists and
designers to enhance and edit images, whether artwork or
photographs.
The most recent version is Adobe Photoshop CS. It has a lot
more effects and image manipulation tools and 16-bit color
capabilities. It's apparently particularly better for
photographers. It now gives you the ability to export
images to Macromedia's Flash format.
Plus, Adobe Photoshop CS supports a large number of digital cameras.
Plus it supports a new Adobe format -- DNG -- Digital Negative.
Adobe Photoshop CS has been used to create images used in some
feature films. You can get a lot of other good programs,
and they'd be good enough for many purposes, but for high
end professional image editing, this company is keeping its
product in the lead.
