The Cuckoo's Egg by Clifford Stoll
I'ved enjoyed spy novels ever since they became popular back
when I was a kid, so when I found the book The Cuckoo's Egg by
Clifford Stoll, I couldn't resist.

It's a real life espionage drama, and a fascinating look at
the culture of the pre-popularized Internet -- not to mention
an explanation at the different flavors of UNIX.

Hacking in the 1980s -- how a 75 cent discrepancy in a phone
bill trips up a spy bent on discovering America's deepest
military secrets.

The Cuckoo's Egg by Clifford Stoll

hope you find the combination as entertaining as I did,
Rick Stooker
