Ada Programming Language
This is an update to my article at:

Ada for Not Yet Techies

No real change here. The last update occurred in 1995, so Ada 95 is still the latest version. It is defined by an international standard called the Language Reference Manual or LRM.

Although it's well-known in the US for its usuage by the Department of Defense, it is taught and used all over the world in a wide range of applications, from banking to traffic control.

Almost all commercially available Ada compilers have passed a controlled validation process checking it against a validation suite. It has standard mechanisms to interface with such other languages as Fortran, Cobol and C.

Since the Department of Defense has been highly active in the past three years, Ada is presumably being used for a wide variety of purposes. Apparently it is doing well.
