Getting paid to play computer games
I finally got a chance to interview someone who
has been paid to play games.
Unfortunately, although he told me he worked
for a division of Microsoft, he was paid by
a temporary service -- and that was in 2001.
However, maybe the company will still place
game players. You can go to:
Volt Information Sciences Inc
and ask them.
But first, realize that TANSTAAFL always applies.
That is, there's no such thing as a free lunch.
You are NOT paid to JUST play games -- you must
detect flaws. You must remember screens. You
must know what a background color is off. Or a
sound effect.
You must also be good enough to play into the
expert levels, because you must evaluate them
as well as the easy levels.
According to the man I spoke with, they hire
a lot of people but if they can't find the
flaws, they're let go. Hey, it happened to
him -- he wasn't good enough.
