ebXML
This updates the article at:
ebXML for Not Yet Techies
ebXML (Electronic Business using eXtensible Markup
Language) is an international system of using
open source standards to enable online commerce
and business.
Some in the Linux community are planning to integrate
ebXML into that operating system.
ebXML uses a special messaging service based on SOAP
called ebMS (ebXML Messaging Service) to transfer
information and checks partner profiles to make
sure they conform to their business agreements.
Various companies and industries from the State of
Texas to Australia to Hong Kong are using ebXML.
ebXML is now being advanced to accomodate web services
and wireless interactions. It now also uses BPSS
(Business Process Specification Schema)which now is
at version 2.
BPSS v2 enables the modelling of multiple exchange
partners, not just two at a time, so it supports
enhanced ebXML.
