VBScript

This is pretty much dead in the water. It was supposed to be
Microsoft's version of JavaScript -- a scripting language
based on the Visual Basic programming language.

However, it never caught on, and now like everything else
from Microsoft it's been subsumed into the .NET Framework.

In that sense, however, it's still active. It uses
Windows Script to communicate with host applications.
They are still keeping it as one of their many scripting
technologies, along with JScript, Windows Script
Components, Windows Script Host and Windows Script
Interfaces.
