PowerBuilder Certifications
This updates the article at:

PowerBuilder Certifications for Not Yet Techies
Sybase has recently announced the latest version of
its Rapid Application Development / RAD tool
PowerBuilder as 10.0. However, the certifications
it is currently offering are for PowerBuilder
6,7,8 + 9, so the certification department has not yet
caught up with the development and marketing
departments.

The first level of PowerBuilder certifications is:

PowerBuilder Developer Associate

In fact, the test for this one is for PowerBuilder
8. It's exam 510-306. It's 49 multiple choice
questions. You must score at least 70% to pass.

You can test on previous versions but I only mention
the most up to date. Why study an obsolete version
of a program? It's hard enough to keep up. Start out
as far ahead as you can.

The second level of PowerBuilder certifications is:

PowerBuilder Developer Professional

They do have a test at this level for PowerBuilder 9.
It's exam 510-308. It's 60 multiple choice
questions. You must score 70% correct to pass.

There are a number of training courses available to
help you learn the material. Whether you take their
3 or 5 day trainings or not, you better have some
on the job experience.
