Object Oriented Programming
This updates the article at:

Object Oriented Programming for Not Yet Techies

Not really much to say. Object oriented programming is
not really a technology so much as a structure of a
programming language. So it does not come out with
upgrades and revisions.

It is becoming much more accepted and standard.
New programming languages that come out are almost
always are object oriented, not procedural. Older
languages such as Fortran have adopted object
oriented programming and come out with such versions.

Of course, programming is advancing in other ways, such
as with the introduction of aspect oriented programming,
but that's another story. Object oriented programming
is now the basic standard.

My niece the computer science major told me they're
having her learn Java instead of C++, since Java is also
object oriented. Either way, universities want their
computer science graduates to understand object oriented
programming.
